With 2 full-time, enthusiastic coaches. The TigerSharks are experiencing rapid growth and improved success. Both Ben and James bring fresh ideas, the latest knowledge, experience and professionalism to their squads 

 

Head Coach: Ben Hiddlestone

Ben comes to us from the Miami Swimming Club in Queensland and has been working with olympic coach Dennis Cottrell for 3 years. He brings with him some great experience and excellent technical skills.  Ben won a few medals at Age Nationals in Freestyle and then finished a Masters Degree in Tokyo, living in Japan for 7 years.

Ben has been with the TigerSharks since 2005 where the club has developed from being ranked 31st in Victoria to 6th!

  

Full Time Assistant Coach: James Fox

 

 The TigerSharks are very happy to announce our new full-time assistant coach, James Fox. James has moved from being one of the assistant coaches at Norwood Swimming Club in South Australia. Norwood is one of Australia’s top 5 swimming clubs at an Open or Age level.

 

James started coaching in 2005 while still swimming for the Clovercrest Swimming Club where he was captain of the Club. James’ coaching achievements include coaching swimmers to State Championships, State finals  and medals with the aim to make national times. He has also been appointed a State Coach for the South Australian Primary School Amateur Sports Association in 2007 held in Adelaide and has attended many Swimming SA talent ID programs in 2006/2007.

 

James has also competed in the National Age Open Water 5km & 10km as well.

 

In 2007 James was also the recipient of a Prime Ministers Award for Skills excellence. This was awarded to only 19 people Australia wide with James being the top in Services Industry in Australia.

 

Assistant Coach: Frank Haas

 

After a twenty-five year career as an Industrial Chemist, Frank changed his career to pursue his interests in sport and fitness, in particular swimming, and is now employed as a Swimming Teacher and Gym Instructor/Personal Trainer.

 

A keen swimmer, he has been competing in open water swimming since 1996 and is a member of the Shark Bait Club (successful completion of ten Lorne Pier to Pub swims). He is also an avid tennis player and still plays competitive tennis.

 

He enjoys the challenges of coaching young sportspeople and helping them to achieve their full potential.
